Reverend Dr. Samuel Worlanyo Mensah, Vice Presidential Candidate, All Peoples Congress (APC), has proposed a 24-hour industrialization and job creation production cycle at the regional and district levels if elected.

He said the party’s 24-hour economic policy would focus on promoting industrialization and creating jobs to address the issues of youth unemployment and underdevelopment in the regions and districts.

“Our 24-hour industrial policy will focus on building industries and companies at the regional and district levels,” Rev. Dr Mensah said an interview with the Ghana News Agency after his outdooring by the APC as their Running Mate for the 2024 elections.

“We will look at the potential of districts and look at how we can add industrial value to them to create jobs in 24-hour production cycle.

“This will be something more like the One District-One Factory concept, where will build industries through value addition at the regional and district levels where people can work in a 24-hour production cycle,” he said.

Dr. Mensah said that the APC was focused on five thematic areas to drive economic growth and development: Industrialization, Globalization, Domestication, Commercialization, and Digitization.

He said that thematic areas would serve as the foundation for developing policies and programs aimed at fostering growth and development if the party was elected.

Dr. Mensah said that the party would focus on strengthening the capacities of anti-corruption agencies to effectively combat corruption and reduce waste within the system.

He noted that the approach would help recoup funds for development and enable the government to operate without relying on foreign aid and donations.

The APC Running Mate stated that with his extensive background as a researcher, socialist, banker, accountant, and economist, he would contribute valuable knowledge and expertise to support his presidential aspirant in driving development initiatives.

Dr. Worlanyo Mensah hails from Botoku in the North Dayi District of the Volta Region, where he was born into the Kledzadzasi Royal Clan of Botoku Dzali and currently serves as their Executive Secretary.

He is an economist, a research fellow, and a council member with the Institute of Chartered Economists in Ghana. He lectures at the Department of Economics and Development Studies at Wisconsin International University College in Accra.

Dr Mensah is currently the Ghana Country Director of Vision Afric, and Executive Director and Chief Economist of the Centre for Greater Impact Africa, a Governance and Economic Planning think tank.

He was a Senior Banker with the Dalex Finance Financial Services Ghana and the Company Accountant with Crystal Star Ghana Limited, an Oil and Gas Firm.

Dr. Mensah is the Head Pastor and Presiding Bishop of Christ Whitehouse Chapel.
