The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Saturday embarked on a health walk, dubbed: “Bold Solution Walk”, to herald the party’s 2024 Manifesto launch in Takoradi.

The walk, led by Dr Mathew Opoku-Prempeh, the NPP’s running -mate to the Flagbearer, was attended by party leaders, some Members of Parliament (MPs), and government officials among other big wigs of the party.

It was held through some principal streets of Sekondi-Takoradi to whip up public enthusiasm towards the launch of the party’s manifesto for the 2024 general election.

Dr Opoku-Prempeh, addressing party supporters after the walk at Effiakuma, in the Effia-Kwesimintsim Municipality of the Western Region, said the NPP had performed better and deserved to be given another four-year mandate to continue its good works.

Despite the disruptions in global economies by the Russia-Ukraine war and COVID-19 pandemic, the NPP-led Government had made significant strides in ensuring the development of the country, he said.

The party’s manifesto will heavily focus on jobs for the youth and businesses.

“You as youth, need jobs to improve upon your living standards, so our manifesto will focus on that,” he said.

Mr Andrew Egyapa Mercer, MP for Sekondi, said the walk was a testament to the party’s readiness for victory in the December 7 polls.

He said the NPP represented the future of the country, and that Ghanaians must give it the nod to “break the eight.”

“Ghanaians were not impressed with the NDC that is why they were booted out, so we cannot afford to go back to what was rejected in 2016,” he said.

He called on party supporters to work hard to win power for the country’s development.

Other MPs and officials took turns to tout the government’s achievements to convince the electorate to vote for the NPP come December 7.

Meanwhile, taxi drivers and hoteliers, traders, especially food venders and sachet water sellers, have cashed in to make some money.

Many hotels, which used to be empty were fully booked, with flights from Accra to Takoradi recording a slight increase.
