The Zonal Coordinator of the School Feeding Programme in the Twifo Atti-Morkwa and Hemang Lower Denkyira Constituencies has been arrested for allegedly defrauding school feeding caterers in her jurisdiction.

The Coordinator, Angelina Nyarko, who is also the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Constituency Women’s Organizer allegedly, used the complainant’s account to divert monies from the programme for her private use.

Angelina, who has subsequently been granted bail, allegedly coerced the person whose account she used to believe that she was engaged in another business and that payment had to be made through a different account.

The complainant reportedly warned Angelina Nyarko to stop using her (the complainant’s) account to deny poor caterers their rightful monies, especially because the women used their own funds to pre-finance the cooking.

The NPP executive is reported to have failed to heed the warning and used the account to conduct her dubious deal.

The complainant, however, refused to withdraw the money for Angelina this time around, which resulted in a quarrel and subsequent assault on her.

The matter was then reported to the police along with documented evidence of Angelina’s transactions through the bank account leading to the arrest.
