He said the LOGNet and its partners, were committed to fostering social cohesion and unity within Ghanaian communities.

A statement signed by Mr. Christopher Dapaah, and copied the Ghana News Agency said elections, often led to division, uncertainty, and harmful rhetoric that could undermine social harmony.

Therefore, strengthening social cohesion was paramount for a peaceful and prosperous Ghana and called on leaders of political parties, chiefs, and party supporters, to refrain from using money and material resources to influence elections unfairly as well as any form of violence and intimidation.

The media, he noted, must promote responsible and balanced reporting that fostered understanding.

The LOGNet executive said ethnicity and manipulation of voters, disrespect for authority and the Elderly must give way for a more inclusive society.

He said, “let promote policies that address inequalities and ensure equal opportunities for all, encourage active participation in community; we can create a Ghana where social cohesion is the norm, and everyone feels valued and included.”

Mr. Dapaah urged all to strive to maintain the country’s reputation as a beacon of democratic development in Africa.

The Local Governance Network (LOGNet) is an umbrella organization of CSOs working to promote effective decentralization and local governance
