Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban S.K Bagbin, has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the numerous well-meaning Ghanaians who have extended congratulations and encouragement to him as he concluded his first year as Speaker of the 8th Parliament of the 4th Republic.

A statement by the Public Affairs of Parliament said the Speaker recognizes the overwhelming messages of goodwill are indication Ghanaians are following the work of Parliament with lots of expectations and keen interest.

“The Speaker is touched and humbled by the love showed him and the prayers said for him on that occasion.”

“He looks forward to a stronger partnership with government and civil society in promoting accountability during this second year of his tenure,” the statement said.

The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban S.K Bagbin, expresses his heartfelt gratitude to the numerous well-meaning Ghanaians who extended congratulations and encouragement to him as he concluded his first year as Speaker of the 8th Parliament of the 4th Republic.

The Speaker is touched and humbled by the love showed him and the prayers said for him on that occasion.

He recognizes that the overwhelming messages of goodwill are indication that Ghanaians are following the work of Parliament with lots of expectations and keen interest.

He assures all Ghanaians that he will continue to play his part as best as he can to ensure the growth and development of Mother Ghana, especially in the area of parliamentary democracy and good governance.

He looks forward to a stronger partnership with government and civil society in promoting accountability during this second year of his tenure.

Mr. Speaker further asks for God’s guidance and blessings for the Legislature as it begins the second year of its fbur-year tenure, and also for the Executive, the Judiciary and all Ghanaians.
