The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has recognized Advance Home Healthcare Limited for its dedication to ensuring the timely payment of workers’ contributions.
In celebration of National Chocolate Day, the SSNIT Airport Branch Manager, Michael Asante Nimo, led a team to present chocolates to the company’s employees as a token of appreciation.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Asante Nimo commended the company for its unwavering commitment to compliance with the SSNIT scheme, which guarantees financial security for employees in their retirement years.
“Advance Home Healthcare Limited has been one of our loyal employers, ensuring that all workers are registered and their contributions paid on time. This company is an indigenous Ghanaian startup, and we are here to celebrate and encourage them to continue their good work,” he said.
He stressed the importance of businesses enrolling their employees in the scheme, stressing that timely payments secure the future of workers.
“Employers should understand that while their workers may be strong and active today, tomorrow may not be the same. Life is unpredictable, and ensuring social security contributions means that workers will have financial support when they are old or in case of unforeseen circumstances,” he added.
Mr. Asante Nimo used the occasion to urge other businesses, especially startups, to follow the example set by Advance Home Healthcare Limited.
“Whether big or small, all employers should ensure that their workers are enrolled in the SSNIT scheme to secure their futures. Last year, we engaged market women to emphasize the importance of social security, and today, we are focusing on startups.”
“Our goal is to strengthen relationships with businesses and reaffirm our commitment to providing income security for all workers in Ghana,” he stated.
Advance Home Healthcare’s gratitude
The CEO of Advance Home Healthcare Limited, Mrs. Araba Biney, expressed her appreciation to SSNIT for the recognition, describing it as a motivating gesture for startups.
“It is truly encouraging to see SSNIT recognizing and appreciating startups like ours. This strengthens our relationship and reinforces the importance of securing the future of our employees through social security contributions,” she said.
Mrs. Biney shared that her Christian background and strong ethical values drive her commitment to compliance.
“I go by the book, and I believe in giving to Caesar what belongs to Caesar. From the beginning, I made sure my employees’ social security contributions were paid. There were times I had some challenges, but I reached out to my SSNIT relationship manager, and he guided me through the law to ensure full compliance,” she added.
SSNIT’s commitment to workers’ security
Mr. Asante Nimo reaffirmed SSNIT’s role as the only scheme in Ghana that provides pensions for life and encouraged all employers—whether in private, corporate, or self-employed sectors—to prioritize enrolling their workers in the scheme.
He encouraged businesses to continue supporting their workers’ future and stressed that pension is not just for today but for tomorrow and that SSNIT is committed to ensuring that every worker in Ghana enjoys financial security in retirement.
