A comprehensive list of state lands sold to cronies of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and private companies during the tenure of former President John Mahama has been leaked.
This development comes in the wake of recent allegations by the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, who has accused the current government of state capture through the sale of public lands.
The leaked list reveals that state lands were predominantly sold to NDC affiliates during Mahama’s administration.
The transactions, described as resembling a state capture scenario, began on October 23, 2014, with the sale of lands in the Cantonments residential area to Ghana International School.
Subsequent sales included land at the Cantonments residential area to Bizsol Ghana Limited on November 19, 2014.
On December 29, 2014, state lands at the Switchback Road Residential area were sold to B.K.A. Selormey. On December 27, 2014, XF Engineering and Construction Limited acquired state lands at Cantonments residential area.
Several individuals linked to the NDC, such as Nana Kojo Ansah, Yaw Manu Sarpong, and Dr. Jihad Joseph Akl, significantly benefited from these land sales.
Other NDC affiliates who obtained state lands included Franklin Addo Obiri, Joshua Hammond, Francis Dzikunu, and Nana Kwadwo Dwemoh Benneh.
Companies such as Rona Construction Limited, Triple X Ventures, I. Sible Co Limited, and FBN Investments Ghana Limited were also involved.
The pattern of state land sales under Mahama concluded on June 15, 2016, when Felix Nikoe Djanie and Mary Maxwell Djanie, both prominent NDC figures, acquired lands through the Labadi Redevelopment Scheme at the Ghana @50 area.
Additionally, a state-owned land at the Airport residential area was sold to Mrs. Mary Tweneboah on June 30, 2016.
