Ghana’s ‘Best’ captain ever, Stephen Appiah has rejected appointments by the Ghana Football Association to join the Black Stars management committee, according to Sportsworldghana.com.
The former Ghana captain is not in smooth relationship with the Kurt Okraku led administration hence the decision to reject the appointment as a member of the management committee of the Black Stars.
According to our trusted sources from the camp of the former Ghana player, Appiah’s rejection is why he failed to join the newly constituted management committee to Kumasi for the Ghana vs Nigeria game.
Meanwhile, the former Juventus star was in Kumasi to watch the crucial game on Friday March 25.
He previously worked as a member of the Black Stars team when Ghana failed to impress in Egypt during the 32nd CAF Africa Cup of Nations tournament in 2019.
The former player of the Stars fells he was not treated well by the FA when they assumed office after the 2019 Cup of Nations tournament as he was overlooked by the Ghana Football Association.
The portal reports that despite talks with the ex-captain, the former Juventus CF player has opted to not take up the position as a member of the Black Stars management committee despite Ghana’s World Cup Qualification.
