Such pedestrian assumption should not be your lot to experience – P. K Sarpong advises Catherine Afeku

Dear Catherine Afeku,

Two main reasons have compelled me to write you this note.

In an interview you granted to Oyerepa FM in Kumasi, you ‘bemoaned’ the fact that some pick-ups branded with the pictures of Vice President Bawumia will cause harm to him and that his handlers goofed ferrying the vehicles from where they were branded during the day to a different destination.

I cannot, for the life of me, grasp the rationale behind such a comment. Is it your thinking that these vehicles would only operate during the night?

Are you saying that if the vehicles had been moved in the night, and they’re being used in the day, the branding would magically disappear and reappear in the night when being utilized?

I can’t believe this. These vehicles would be used at all times whether night or day and you seem to have a problem with how they were carried to their destination?

No harm has been caused Dr. Bawumia with these vehicles being moved during the day because they were not built and bought to be used only in the nights!

Assuming without admitting that this has caused a form of harm to the Vice President and his campaign to lead the NPP to break the 8, you should jubilate since it inures to the benefit of Team Alan. In a match involving Manchester United and Arsenal, it is not for Arsenal’s coach to tell Manchester United’s manager how to arrange his players on the field of play. Your point is completely moot!

You also opined that if the NPP is bent on winning power in 2024, Alan should be elected to lead the party, but if we just need a candidate, then any other aspirant can be elected to lead the party.

One would have thought that with the many years of experience you have garnered as a politician, such a pedestrian assumption should not be your lot to experience.

In the likely event that Alan does not get the mandate to lead the party, would you go out there to campaign for or against whoever the party chooses? If you’d campaign for the party’s candidate who would likely not be Chief Alan, what would be your response if someone plays this audio or video to you?

I find what you said to be problematic. It must not be a do-or-die affair, Aunt Catherine! That bit was reckless and reprehensible, to say the least. It is a competition and like all races, we must sell our products but we must ensure that we do not attack other people’s products. Focus on the man you would want to lead the party.

If I were you, I would run to the Evalue Gwira Constituency in the Western Region to win back that seat you gifted to the NDC.

We will need more numbers in Parliament to win the presidential as well. Kindly, do well to bring back that seat, for we are ever ready to support you in retrieving that lost seat for us. Thank you.
