Teddy Safori Addi, Member of Parliament (MP) for Ayensuano constituency in the Eastern Region, on Saturday, October 27, 2024 launched the ‘TEDDYcares Educational Support Fund’ with an initial seed amount of GH¢50,000.
The MP reaffirmed his commitment to education, which he considers his top priority and pledged to enhance educational infrastructure in the area and invest in the future leaders of the constituency.
This fund is specifically designed to provide scholarships and financial assistance to gifted but financially challenged students in the Ayensuano constituency.
According to the MP, the fund’s establishment was motivated by repeated requests from parents and the District Director of Education, who underscored the financial challenges that prevent some students from returning to school after vacation.
Safori Addi, in response to this pressing need collaborated with the District Director of Education to identify the top 40 students from the 2023 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
Through the TEDDYcares Fund, each of these 40 students received GH¢1,000 to cover essential school expenses. Additionally, the MP donated laptops to the top-performing male and female BECE students from 2023, supporting their academic research and development.
This initiative reflects Hon. Safori Addi’s commitment to making a tangible impact on education in Ayensuano, prioritizing both immediate financial support and the long-term educational success of his constituents.
