THE LORD WILL GIVE IT TO YOU

Scripture Reading: Genesis 12

Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, “To your descendants I will give this land.” And there he built an altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him. (Genesis 12:7)

Abraham’s experience in Canaan land carries significant lessons to learn from. He arrived at Canaan without knowing it was the land that God had in mind to give him. He had left the land of His birth and wandered from place to place, unaware of where his journey would end. It was only after Abraham got to the land of Canaan that the Lord revealed His purposes to Him.

That is often how God works to bring His children to their appointed place. There may seem to be no meaning, no purpose and no agenda to the events, situations and places in your life. But God is able to draw meaning from these and ultimately reveal to you his hand at work to bring you to your Canaan.

Often as we trust the Lord and follow His leading, we do not appreciate all the progress we’re making. When the Lord is leading, all we must do is to keep our eyes on Him until He opens our eyes to see how far He has brought us.

You may be in your Canaan land at the moment, unawares. But for all you know, you’re just where God wants you to be in your land of promise, purpose and His habitation.

Abraham might have thought that he was not making any progress, yet he was. There were no signposts along the way for him to track the journey. Walking with God is an act of faith. Following His leading requires trust and confidence in His character.

Can the God that guided Abraham in His day do the same for you? Yes He can and He desires to do so. May He grant you a testimony in your enterprises, endeavours and aspirations.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for leading me along the journey. I receive your promised inheritance to me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
