I have observed with keen interest, the growing debate with regards to who succeeds H.E President NADAA as Presidential Candidate of our great Party for the 2024 general elections. I think it is too early for such debates; especially as the President has begun setting up his team to continue the agenda for job creation and total transformation of Ghana’s economy.

Nonetheless, I state unequivocally that, the NPP has a solid and unambiguous succession plan. We have never been let down by the age old, proven plan. It’s just a matter of time that the reality will dawn upon the skeptics.

Presidential Kufuor, echoes from the past

The current government under the leadership of H.E. President NADAA and Veep DMB have taken our country out of the ICU of the IMF and have placed it on a foundation of economic stability and growth which has won us the trust of not only the Ghanaian people but the international community/investors.This has invariably led to the Ghanaian people, entrusting this team with another 4year emphatic mandate in the just ended 2020 Presidential election; though we performed abysmally in the Parliamentary election.

Indeed, the NADAA & DMB combination has been sterlingly magnificent in the accomplishment of our Party’s pledge to the Ghanaian people. And this has earned the New Patriotic Party the goodwill and confidence of the citizenry.

With a solid economic team led by DMB, the NADAA-led government has set a record never seen in the first term of any government in our history as country. They did not run a SQG. They initiated a MTG which has proven to be the wayforward for optimism and prosperity. With a set of tangible and enviable policies such as NABCo, PFJs, 1D1F, 1V1D, the ALMIGHTY FSHS, etc, NADAA & DMB anchored the most socially friendly government; and clearly instituted a redefined programme for poverty reduction, greater support for the vulnerable and historic access to funding by a greater number of the Ghanaian population to support their small and table top businesses. It is imperative that these policies are maintained and sustained to achieve the “global” development agenda of the NPP.

This is what will break the “conventional” 8 year mandate “allocated” to the two leading Parties. Nothing else can! We all yearn for an NPP take over from the current NPP government in 2024 for another deserving term. I am positive that the 8 year “limit” will be broken!

But we have to be decisive and eschew sentimental politics, while embracing reason to achieve this feat. The Ghanaian people trust in the current leadership. And so it has become imperative that we maintain the vision of H.E NADAA by settling on someone who has been significantly part of that vision. This is what I mean, when I say the NPP has a clear succession plan.

This is undeniable! Dr. Bawumia is our surest bet in the continuation of NADAA’s vision and breaking the 8.

Furtherance to this plan, DMB is backed by a clear case of his stewardship and service to the NPP in the struggles in all election campaigns since 2008 which has led us to the renewal of our mandate today. This is the same DMB who led our team to unearth mass irregularities in the 2012 elections which paved way for the election petition of 2013; the results of which inured to the benefit of the NPP in 2016. He was a FANTABULOUS star witness and his rendition was remarkable! This is the same DMB, whose numerous lectures on the economy under the then inept NDC government, led to the renaming of John Mahama as the “incompetent one” and subsequently led to ghanaians, chasing him out of the flagstaff house – handing a historic massive mandate to the competent NPP.

Apart from President NADAA, DMB is arguably, the most popular, enterprising and passionate politician in today’s Ghana, In fact, the name Bawumia has become a household name throughout the country. He represents not only corporate Ghana but the grassroots as well.

DMB has broken through religious and regional boundaries and relates very well with both the Christian and Muslim communities. He is loved in the north and even more in the south of the country. His conduct as an individual and as a politician has broken the propaganda machinery of the opposition NDC, which thrives in tagging leaders of the NPP with bad names. DMB’s unblemished personality has left the NDC, struggling to malign him since he showed up in Ghana’s political space.
Indeed, we cant wish for any better candidate to lead the NPP.

With Dr. Bawumia’s popularity, coupled with his service to the NPP and his role in the current sterling policies currently being roled out by the NADAA’s governent, can we risk losing an asset like him in 2024? Is there any candidate we can market better than DMB?
Is there any better alternative capable of breaking the 8? If anyone can break the 8 in the NPP in 2024, that will be DMB. He remains the solid successor of HE NAADA and Ghana’s new revelation to mend our politics and change it to the absolute benefit of the people.

Indeed, the NPP has an unmistakable, solid, Succession Plan! And DMB is the HEIR APPARENT TO THE NPP THRONE for 2024.
