On the night of the 2024 elections, NDC goons were deployed across the various constituencies to cause mayhem.
They beat up political opponents, nobody went to the rescue of the victims.
They destroyed pink sheets even before collations, nobody told them anything.
When they were declared winners, they went on rampage in many parts of the country.
They went to GPHA and tormented their staff, nobody did anything about this or to them.
They invaded the premises of Ghana Gas, not a soul called them to order as they gleefully went about doing what they knew best.
They went to ECG offices to disrupt their work and asked the workers to vacate their positions so that they would take over. No one cautioned them.
They went to MDAs, beat up people, drove others out of their offices. President Mahama kept quiet.
They went to Ada to take over McDan’s ElectroChem salt mining operations and destroyed some of their facilities.
They stormed Kotoka International AirPort to stop the export of gold by PMMC, nothing happened to Joseph Yamin who led that operation.
They went to the extent of taking food substances belonging to Free SHS students, they went away with it.
They burnt police stations and beat up officers of the law. Nothing happened to them.
They extended their lawless activities to Electoral Commission’s offices and disrupted their collation processes. Nothing was done to them.
Last night, they stormed the sites of AngloGold Ashanti and had confrontations with the military officers deployed to protect the sites.
In the ensuing confrontation, lives have been lost. If these thugs had been stopped when they began attacking innocent people, we wouldn’t have experienced what happened last night.
This should be a lesson to all those who have made it their duties to go round the country to forcibly take over entities which may or may not belong to the state. It’s a lesson.
