He said the approval followed lobbying for the project to address the deteriorated nature of the roads linking the Constituency.

Mr Tsekpo speaking during the 68th Independence Day celebration in Hohoe said the Logba to Hohoe road would open the constituency to better trade, transportation, and standard of living.

He said the road had been long overdue and with its completion, Hohoe would be better connected to the rest of the country.

Mr Tsekpo said the Fodome to Hohoe, Hohoe to Santrokofi and Hohoe through Oti to Wli roads would also be attended to in order to put them in good shape.

He said work was to begin soon on the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) permanent campus in Fodome.

“This is a momentous development for Hohoe as it solidifies our position as an educational hub for health sciences in the Region”.

He said the government was committed to creating a conducive academic environment for all students and the continued fight against schools under trees was a promise determined to fulfil.

Mr Tsekpo said the Volta Regional Hospital, Hohoe would also see major face-lifts to meet the growing healthcare demands.

He said the health facility would be equipped with the necessary resources and infrastructure to provide quality healthcare services to the people of Hohoe and beyond.

Mr Tsekpo said one of the most pressing issues constituents faced was the long-standing water challenges in the Constituency.

He said the Minister for Water, Works and Housing had taken up the matter, and a water project had been tabled before the Ministry to put an end to the challenges once and for all.

“Access to clean, safe water is a basic human right, and we will continue pushing to ensure that every home in Hohoe has access to this vital resource“.

Mr Tsekpo said Hohoe would benefit from the government’s National Apprenticeship Programme targeting the young people in the informal sector, equipping them with employable skills and providing startup support.

He said the youth of Hohoe would benefit from the “One Million Coders Programme” and be trained in coding, web development, digital marketing and other ICT skills positioning them for opportunities in the digital economy.

Mr Tsekpo said okada riders would benefit from the hire-purchase scheme to be introduced by the government enabling them to acquire motorbikes, including electric motorcycles to reduce fuel costs and increase profitability.

He also said the Constituency would benefit from the National Women’s Bank, Farmer Service Centre, and other programmes by government.
