Three political parties have called on citizens to set aside differences and unite for national development and prosperity during the Easter festivities.

In separate interviews with the Ghana News Agency, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), National Democratic Congress (NDC), and Convention People’s Party (CPP) urged the nation to reflect on Christ’s resurrection and work together to build a prosperous future.

Mr Richard Ahiagbah, the Director of Communications, NPP, said the death and resurrection of Christ signified sacrifice and compassion to humanity.

He urged the people to emulate the sacrifices of Christ and dedicate to positive practices that would reflect the love and compassion of Christ.

“The salvation, economic development, and security of our State must be won by us and by doing the difficult things and sacrifice. If we do that, we will take the right lessons from Christ’s salvation,” Mr Ahiagbah said.

Mr Mustapha Gbande, Deputy General Secretary, NDC, said Easter was an important moment to renew one’s mind about the symbolism and significance of the crucifixion of Christ.

He urged Ghanaians to reflect and believe that the sufferings they endured in the past had been “buried” and given rise to new beginning of hope and determination.

“We will die with the pain and agony, but we will rise again in prosperity,” he said.

Nana Akosua Frimpomaa Sarpong-Kumankumah, the Flagbearer of CPP in the 2024 Presidential Election, urged the citizenry especially members of the various political parties to make peace with one another and work together to develop the nation.

He urged the leadership of the country to learn from the sacrifices of Christ, renew their mindset and put the interest of the nation first.

“This Easter should not be a routine celebration but a deep commitment to the welfare of the people,” Nana Sarpong-Kumankumah said.

Easter, a significant Christian holiday, commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ, symbolizing hope, renewal, and eternal life.

For millions of Christians worldwide, it is a time for spiritual reflection, celebration, and unity in faith and community.
