He stated that the Fund has ensured that every child has access to quality education in a safe and conducive learning environment.

Dr. Adutwum noted that GETFund has been instrumental in uplifting the educational infrastructure across all levels of education in all 16 regions of Ghana over the last 20 years.

The Education Minister was speaking at the GETFUND Stakeholders’ Engagement Forum in Accra on the impact the Fund has had on education in the past years.

“I want to commend the Board of Trustees for their support in deepening creativity in our students through digitalization, while ensuring prudent management of the fund as per the GETFund Act, 2000, Act 581 as amended. The construction of Model STEM schools, E- Blocks and TVET Centres of Excellence stands as a testament to GETFund’s success stories” he said.

He continued: “Today’s gathering provides a platform for the Board of Trustees and management to engage with key stakeholders, discussing success stories, challenges, and the solutions provided. I look forward to hearing from Dr. Richard Ampofo Boadu, the administrator of GETFund, as he shares insights and accounting to the people of Ghana at this forum.”

Dr. Adutwum indicated that GETFund, with a dedicated focus on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education, has been instrumental in transforming educational infrastructure in Ghana.

“One of the primary areas of GETFund’s impact is in advancing STEM and TVET education in Ghana. STEM education prepares our youth for the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century, equipping them with global competitiveness and local innovation. TVET education produces a skilled and adaptable workforce, supporting our growing industries. GETFund should continue prioritizing these areas, ensuring state-of-the-art facilities and resources for our students.”

The Education Minister expressed delight in the surge in local scholarships stressing that “these scholarships enable local scholars to access quality education, even in areas where facilities were lacking. This aligns with our commitment to equal opportunity and inclusive education.”

He encouraged GETFund to expand its efforts and partnerships with educational institutions and industry stakeholders and invest in modern laboratories, advanced technology, and highly qualified educators to provide world-class STEM and TVET education.

The Education Minister noted that GETFund has aligned with the government’s agenda, specifically in STEM and TVET. By investing in STEM and TVET scholarships, we empower our youth to take these opportunities and compete globally. The impact of GETFUND on Contemporary education is indeed commendable.
