Leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Parliament has reportedly been ousted for fresh faces to manage the Minority front bench.
This massive shake up sees Minority leader Haruna Iddrisu and his deputy, James Klutse Avedzi make way for Dr Cassiel Ato Forson and Emmanuel Kofi Armah Boah as the new minority leader and his deputy.
A statement circulating on social media and signed by NDC General Secretary Fifi Kwete says Kwame Agbodza becomes the Chief Whip for the opposition side, replacing Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, and will be deputised by Banda MP, Ahmed Ibrahim and Ada legislator, Comfort Doyo Ghansah respectively.
The party charged the new leadership to recommend consequential changes in the Ranking membership to Headquarters of the party for approval but fell short of explaining the rationale behind the changes.
Some NDC MPs are, however, incensed by the situation and described it as a ‘coup d’etat.’
