Vice President Naana Jane Returns home after medical treatment in London

Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang returned to Ghana Thursday after a medical trip to London, United Kingdom.

She was warmly received at the Kotoka International Airport by President John Dramani Mahama, First Lady Mrs. Lordina Mahama, Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, her own Chief of Staff Alex Segbefia, and other senior government officials.

Also present to welcome the Vice President were the Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church and several members of her family.

In a brief but heartfelt address at the airport, Vice President Opoku-Agyemang expressed gratitude to the Ghanaian people for their prayers and well wishes during her recovery.

 “I am deeply thankful to Ghanaians for the overwhelming love, prayers, and support. I extend special appreciation to my doctors and the exceptional medical team at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC),” she said.

She also praised President Mahama and his brother, Mr. Ibrahim Mahama, for their unwavering support throughout her treatment and recovery period.

“Their thoughtfulness, kindness, and care have been incredible, and I am truly grateful,” the Vice President added.

Her return is expected to rejuvenate activities at the Presidency as the government continues its work on delivering on its national development priorities.
