The first ever fully Ghanaian-owned ride hailing service, Voomride is rolling out free rides for its first one hundred users.
The free rides come at a time when Ghanaian commuters are reeling under the effects of petrol price hikes and its attended fare increases.
Chief Executive of Voomride, Kwame Akissi, said the intention is to give Ghanaians the experience of what they are about to see.
“Download the app, order a ride, our drivers will come and give you the best ride of the moment free off charge” he said.

Mr. Akissi stated in an interaction that Voomride is set to change the face of the transportation system in the country with their fleet of fully air-conditioned cars, to give Ghanaians the best run for their money.
The Voomride CEO, disclosed that unlike the other rides, the clients pay for what the app charges insisting “Whether there is Traffic or not, it doesn’t change the amount.”
“If you pick a ride, no matter the distance or traffic, whatever you request for is what must be given to you. The others pay according to map but we charge according to the rate you see and that can’t change” Mr. Akissi noted.
He explained that the app is more customer friendly.

“Both the drivers and the customers are on the same platform unlike the other apps where there is a separate app for drivers and customers.
Currently over 500 passengers with 350 drivers are already hooked on the app set to be launched on April 1, 2022.
With a presence in Accra now, Voomride is set to extend its operations to Cape Coast and Kumasi in the next few months.
