The Center for National Interest and Research (CNIR) and the Centenary Agenda Secretariat, Ghana, has described Mahama’s election victory as a reflection of his dedication to the Ghanaian people and his commitment to national progress.
John Dramani Mahama’s leadership, according to the Center, will bring about positive change and progress to the nation.
In a statement issued by Engr. Dr. Dzabaku Kudiabor Ocansey, Founder and Executive Director of CNIR, the organization extended heartfelt congratulations and expressed confidence in Mahama’s ability to lead the nation toward sustainable development and social cohesion during his tenure.
“We are thrilled to see President-elect Mahama emerge victorious in this election. His leadership will undoubtedly bring about positive change and progress to our great nation,” he said.
The CNIR, in collaboration with the Centenary Agenda Secretariat, outlined six key objectives they hope to achieve under Mahama’s administration:
Protect and Add Value to Natural Resources: Safeguarding Ghana’s rich culture, heritage, and natural resources.
Safeguard National Resources: Ensuring state resources, properties, and lands are protected.
Promote Sustainable Development: Empowering communities through sustainable initiatives.
Foster Inclusive Development: Encouraging equitable social, economic, and political growth.
Encourage Collaboration: Building relationships among stakeholders for national development.
Empower Marginalized Communities: Prioritizing support for vulnerable groups through targeted policies.
The statement emphasized the importance of selfless leadership and institution-building to foster national unity and progress.
“We urge President-elect Mahama to demonstrate selfless and human-centred governance, prioritizing national interests over divisive partisan politics,” Dr. Ocansey stated.
CNIR encouraged Mahama to draw lessons from the shortcomings of previous administrations and focus on critical areas such as institutional reforms, economic development, and social cohesion.
“Ghanaians have entrusted you with their mandate, expecting you to set the country on the right path beyond partisan politics. This will give citizens, especially the youth, renewed hope and opportunities,” the statement noted.
The Center for National Interest and Research noted that Mahama’s administration, with support from over two-thirds of Parliament, has the potential to drive transformational change.
The Centenary Agenda initiatives, aimed at making Ghana a first-world nation, were identified as critical to achieving this vision.
“We firmly believe that Ghana’s wealth, when mobilized and fairly distributed into productive sectors rather than consumption, can transform the nation within a stipulated time,” Dr. Ocansey said.
The CNIR extended its best wishes to President-elect Mahama as he assumes office and urged him to work toward a united and prosperous Ghana.
“With your resounding victory, you have a unique opportunity to build a promising new Ghana that guarantees a bright future for the next generation,” the statement added.
