The Adenta Police in the Greater Accra Region have arrested one Patrick Jobe Asramah for allegedly engaging in gay activities.
The suspect was arrested at 4:50pm on March 10, 2021 in Adenta when waiting for his gay partner for a sexual bout.
He was arrested with ladies brazier, wig, waist beads, hips pad and water tied in rubber used as his boobs.
Patrick has been provisionally slapped with a charge of preparation to commit crime to wit: “Unnatural Carnal Knowledge of a Man.”
According to the paper’s deep throat sources, the suspect was first spotted by a complainant in the case at about 2:00pm at Oyarifa Ghana Flag dressed in a female straight dress.
The source narrates that when Patrick was questioned, he could not give any tangible reason and that probing further the complainant realized that the suspect is a gay who was waiting for a gay partner for a sexual encounter.
The complainant then alerted the Police Patrol Team leading to the arrest of the suspect.
Upon interrogation, the suspect indicated that he was going to meet his client with whom he had a date.
Patrick’s arrest comes at a time when pressure is mounting on authorities to declare war on same-sex marriages in Ghana.
On February 24, this year, the police raided and closed down the recently opened office of an LGBTQ group at Ashongman in Accra.
This followed huge public discourse over the opening of the office by the LGBTQ+ community in Ghana.
The January 31 event which saw in attendance representatives from the Australian and Danish Embassies and other EU delegation, was heavily criticised by a cross-section of Ghanaians.
Anti-gay rights advocate, National Coalition for Proper Human Sexual Rights and Family Values said allowing such activity is a contradiction of the country’s laws regarding unnatural carnal knowledge as its basis.
The group on the other hand blamed the police for not helping them even when the traditional leaders in Ashongman threatened to burn down their office.
