The eight students of the Chiana SHS dismissed for insulting the President have been directed to report to the headmistress for further directions.
This follows a directive by the Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Adutwum to the Ghana Education Service (GES) to consider an alternative sanction for the students other than the dismissal.
A statement from the GES said the affected students were dismissed based on a recommendation from the school’s Disciplinary Committee.
Management, it said, has therefore referred the matter to the school’s Disciplinary Committee to explore alternative sanctions.
